Direct maintenance rolled out

We’ve extended our Direct Maintenance service into our eighth and final Neighbourhood – the North Neighbourhood – from 1 April.

This means we’ll now be able to provide a better and more flexible maintenance service for all our residents in London. Getting ready for this move involved bringing in-house some people from our contractors and recruiting some new operatives.

We gave the new team a week’s induction to help them get familiar with how we work. That meant they were ready to go out to meet residents.

Our North Neighbourhood covers the boroughs of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Hackney, Hammersmith and Fulham, Haringey, Islington, Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster.

If you live outside of London, you’ll continue to receive repair and maintenance services from the companies we work in partnership with.

We piloted providing our own Direct Maintenance service back in 2013 in our Thames Neighbourhood, and have expanded the service over the years. The North Neighbourhood is the final piece of the jigsaw.

We believe that having an in-house maintenance team gives us greater control over the service we provide to you.
