The models affected were all made between April 2004 and October 2015. More than five million dryers were sold, and an estimated 500,000 may still be in use.
If you have a tumble dryer that is one of these brands, please check it.
The affected models are said to have a fault that could lead to fires if excess fluff comes into contact with the heating element. Whirlpool hasn’t published a full list of affected models, but Which? magazine has published a guide you can check yours against.
Some models may be missing from the Which? list. If you think you may have a tumble dryer affected by the safety alert, please unplug it and contact Whirlpool on 0800 151 0905.
At least 750 fires have been reported since 2004 involving these models.
